Kimi competed in the World Match Racing Tour (WMRT) as trimmer on Malaysia's Koo Racing Team (KRT). They ranked 13th in the world in 2016 (World Sailing November 2016). For eight consecutive years he was a national dinghy champion as a crew member. First in Int 420 (2003 to 2006) and then in Int 470 (2007 to 2010). He has competed in the Asian Games (Asiad) and the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games. Kimi hails from the state of Penang.
