A Laser Standard sailor, Khairulnizam is a veteran of 3 Olympic Games (London, Rio and Tokyo). He is a double silver medalist in the Asian Games and a multiple gold medalist in the Southeast Asian Games. He is a regular crew member of top keelboat programs in the Asia Pacific region such as Australia's TP52 Team Hollywood and more recently Thailand's TP52 THA72. He also races in the J70, Fareast 28R and Platu 25 one-design classes in Asia. He is currently campaigning for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. Nizam hails from Klang in the state of Selangor.
