Tom represented Malaysia at the Optimist World Championships in South Africa as a youth sailor. A Platu 25 specialist he has won many regattas in this class. More recently Tom has participated in IRC regattas as well as the SB20 one-design class in Asia. He is currently a dinghy coach at the Royal Selangor Yacht Club (RSYC). Tom hails from Klang in the state of Selangor.
